2010 U.S. Census is Underway; NewsDepth Census Will Count Viewers

Posted Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Featured on Episode 22 of the 2009-2010 season

The U.S. Census gets underway this month, and will count every resident in the United States. Nearly 4 million people were counted the first time around, in 1790. In 1870, thousands of workers hit the road to count our country's population of more than 38 million people. The ten questions on the census form will help determine the number of representatives that states will have in Congress, as well as where a lot of money goes. Here at NewsDepth, we are conducting our own census. We'd like to know how many of you are watching out there. We hope that your school will want to be part of the count in 2010 by taking the quick survey on our website. Complete the survey with an email address and we'll send your school a full-color certificate of participation. Just like the U.S. Census, please get your response in to us by April first. Thanks!!
