Governor Strickland learned last week that Ohio would receive $400 million to build a new railroad line connecting Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati, part of the Obama administration's $8 billion high-speed rail program. Not exactly high-speed, the Ohio trains are expected to average about forty miles per hour. State officials say the project could create up to 11,000 jobs. Critics say the proposed schedule will be inconvenient, and the project will likely cost more money than it makes.
