Quaker Square Train Collection Preserved in New Museum

If you've ever visited the city of Akron, you've probably seen Quaker Square. Its thirty two grain silos were built by Quaker Oats in 1932. In the 1970s, Quaker Square began a new life with shops and an ice cream parlor, and later as a hotel. Now the University of Akron has purchased the building to house students. But what would become of the many antiques and memorabilia that made Quaker Square a fun place to visit? The university has opened a museum, to preserve some of those items, many of which relate to trains. A tiny one-of-a-kind circus is also there. The museum is part of the General Store, still located on the first floor of Quaker Square.
