Cambodia Celebrates Water and Moon Festival with Boat Races

Boat races and fireworks are among the events at this year's Water and Moon Festival in Cambodia's capital city - Phnom Penh. The celebration is huge and is held to coincide with the full moon. The festival marks the beginning of the fishing season and the time of year that the Tonle Sap River changes its direction of flow. That's due to the heavy rains during the monsoon season. The Tonle Sap is possibly the only river in the world that flows in opposite directions at different times of the year. More than 300 boats take part in the annual boat race.
