Case engineering students, faculty, and alumni put their heads - and hands - together over the summer to build a medieval throwing machine called a trebuchet. A trebuchet is sort of like a catapult but uses a counterweight to give it an extra power. The trebuchet debuted at Case's Alumni Weekend on Saturday. The team set up their trebuchet on the outfield of Nobby Baseball Field, where contestants had to use math and physics to shoot their pumpkins and other large vegetables at a target 275 feet away.
