Slip and Lil Joe made their move to Tampa without a hitch. The two manatees flew to Florida on a DHL express flight. Slip and Lil Joe rode in two specially designed marine mammal containers, open at the top so that their caretakers could keep their skin wet and monitor their breathing and body temperature. The two did fine on their plane ride, and are adapting to their temporary home at the Tampa Zoo where they will learn how to feed themselves in the wild.
