In Zanesville on august 23, two police officers were shot in the line of duty. Officer Mike Schiele and his K-9 partner Bosco were both injured, with Bosco suffering bullet wounds in his chest and neck. Mike is doing fine now, and Bosco gets better every day, thanks to the care and rehabilitation he is getting at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Bosco was in critical condition, paralyzed from the neck down when he got there a month ago. Then his back legs started working, and this week he has been able to stand on all four legs, and to even walk a few steps. People from all around Zanesville have been helping with Bosco's medical bills.
