Featured on Episode 29 of the 2008-2009 season
One of America's most storied car brands is being discontinued, due to lagging sales and the poor economy. General Motors is saying goodbye to Pontiac. The brand made many appearances in American pop culture. They'll still be with us in spirit: that lightin'-fast Trans-Am that Burt Reynolds tore through the south in “Smokey and the Bandit,” and the futuristic talking Trans-Am from “Knight Rider.” But the Pontiac brand that produced those legendary muscle-cars of the 60's, 70's and 80's, is going the way of the Oldsmobile, killed off as part of GM’s so-called “viability plan.”
