Featured on Episode 28 of the 2008-2009 season
Tickets sold out months ago, but it wasn't a rock group that took to the stage of London's Royal Festival Hall. Instead it was a youth orchestra from Venezuela. It is hailed as the most successful youth music program in the world, giving some of that country's poorest children a chance to escape through music. The Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra of 180 musicians had the audience on their feet for their thrilling rendition of Leonard Bernstein's “Mambo.”
