Earlier this year - we showed you footage of a meteorite falling from space. Now the space rock has found a home in Kansas. Don Stimpson gives us a close up look at the meteorite that fell to earth in Texas, now at home at the Kansas Meteorite Museum in Haviland, Kansas.
Students will learn more about comets, meteors and meteorites.
Grades: 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade
Subjects: Science
Standards Addressed: Students will demonstrate an understanding of how the concepts and principles of energy, matter, motion and forces explain Earth Systems, the solar system and the universe. Students will describe the effect that asteroids or meteoroids have when moving through space and sometimes entering planetary atmospheres (e.g., meteor-“shooting star” and meteorite).
