Elephants from the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus took a casual stroll along 34th Street in New York earlier this week. The parade of pachyderms happens every year to announce the arrival of the circus, which opens Thursday night, March 26th. At the San Diego Wild Animal Park in California, the staff has welcomed a new baby African elephant. The new baby is part of a herd rescued from Africa in 2003. Since then, the herd has produced six calves. Five have survived, making the San Diego Wild Animal Park one of the most successful zoos at breeding African elephants in captivity.
