It was a sure sign of spring. At 9:05 a.m. last Sunday, the first buzzard was spotted in the annual return of the buzzards to Hinckley Reservation. Buzzard Sunday has been celebrated in Hinckley for fifty two years. This year, more than eight thousand buzzard watchers came out to enjoy the beautiful day and witness thirty nine buzzards performing a few "fly-bys." The celebration included games, music and bird programs. There are many legends as to why the buzzards return here, but they always return on March fifteenth.
