Governor Strickland made some dramatic proposals on the topic of education in his third State of the State speech Wednesday. The governor would like to see Ohio become one of the first states to offer full-day kindergarten to every child. He also proposed getting rid of the current graduation test, replacing it with the ACT college entrance exam, as well as requiring service learning projects for high school students. The Governor wants to place problem-solving and leadership skills at the center of Ohio’s curriculum.
