In his inaugural address, President Obama called for a new era of responsibility and urged Americans to serve their country and communities. He led by example on Monday - Martin Luther King Jr. Day - by volunteering at an emergency homeless shelter for teens in Washington DC. Vice President Joe Biden pitched in by helping to build a home for a needy family. Across the country and in Obama's hometown of Chicago, many answered the call for service in honor of Dr. King.
