Just in time for President Obama's first days in office, there's some new hope for the situation in Gaza. Over the weekend - both Israel and the leadership of the militant Palestinian group Hamas agreed to a cease fire. Surrounded by other world leaders, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Israeli forces have no intention of staying in Gaza any longer than is necessary. Hamas leaders agreed to the cease fire provided Israeli troops withdraw from the territory in one week. Early Wednesday morning, Israeli troops completed their withdrawal from Gaza. More than 1300 Palestinians died in the 22 day long conflict, and 13 Israelis were killed.
