In this economic climate, you have to look pretty far for signs of optimism. How far? How about the Andes? In the small, remote town of Orcopampa, Peru you'll find the Buenaventura Gold Mine. Morgan Neill takes us deep into a Peruvian mine, to see what glitters, and why its appeal is so strong.
Students will discuss the value of gold, write about it, and learn the value of hard work. They will also discover the relationship between gold and paper money.
Grades: 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade
