Doctors say that eating fruits and vegetables is important for good nutrition, but a lot of kids just don’t like them. But in Georgia, kids at Berkmar Middle School in Lilburn,, Georgia, have discovered that vegetarian foods are not only healthy, but tasty, too. Berkmar is just one of Gwinnett county's 110 schools that offer vegetarian options in the lunch line, and the kids are voting vegetarian at a surprising rate.
These lessons help students to focus on identifying the term “vegetarian,” and discover the possible health benefits for those who choose this kind of eating alternative.
Grades: 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade
