Two students in Milwaukie, Oregon were on their way to school when they saw a strange-looking animal in the middle of the road. Nicco Phillips and Lexie Eads found what they thought looked like a giant guinea pig. Nicco was hoping the unusual animal was some sort of kangaroo. It turns that the animal is a Patagonian cavy, a large rodent native to central and southern Argentina. The cavy’s owner has turned up to retrieve his pet named Spock.
