A little Parma wallaby named Foster is getting great care now at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo after his mother couldn't care for him. The veterinary care staff at the zoo has been hand-raising the baby - called a joey - since October. As part of his care, the joey stays in a specially heated hospital room, receives food imported from Australia, and has a warm, furry papoose, something meant to simulate his mother's pouch. The zoo always prefers young animals are raised by their parents, but Foster wouldn't have survived if the zoo staff hadn't taken care of him. When he's bigger, he'll be an ambassador for the zoo's animals, which includes visits to children in their classrooms.
