An Ashland University professor wants children to have a healthy Halloween. With the recent scares over lead content in toys from China, chemistry professor Jeffrey Weidenhamer bought twenty-two items from two dollar stores in the Ashland area. Nineteen of the items tested safe, but three of the toys had high levels of lead. The paint on a Frankenstein cup had nearly 4% lead, or 65 times the U.S. allowable level of lead. The stores have stopped selling the items.
