President Bush called for the reauthorization of No Child Left Behind this week. The No Child Left Behind education law is now five years old and up for renewal. The law requires testing all students in grades 3 through 8, and requires that all students be proficient in reading and math by 2014. Besides more funding, critics of the law say students should be tested on more than just reading and math. Some also argue that there needs to be more flexibility for students not fluent in English. Both the House and the Senate are expected to sign off on the bill in the next few weeks.
