Calling balls and strikes in the major leagues has always been a “guy’s” job – until now. Ria Cortesio umpires for AA baseball, and recently had the chance to umpire for a major league exhibition game. Her appearance caused a flurry of attention in the media. She hopes she will be able to work her way up through AAA ball to the majors in a few years.
