Starbucks coffee shops seem to be everywhere. But in the sprawling grounds of China’s Forbidden City, a small Starbucks shop is in the midst of a brewing controversy. John Vause explains how some people feel it is not a welcome presence in one of China’s most revered historical icons, despite the fact that rent from the store helps to pay for its upkeep and renovation.
