The Grand Canyon, located in Arizona, is a breathtaking steep-sided gorge that was carved by the Colorado River. Visitors now have a new view. Beginning at the end of this month, the $30 million glass-bottomed walkway th at jets out along the edge of the canyon will be open to the public. Known as the skywalk, it weighs more than one-million pounds and is held in place by a system of pulleys and hydraulic lifts.
