Right now, there is a minimum amount that employers have to pay their employees. It’s called the minimum wage, and the current minimum of $5.15 per hour hasn’t changed since 1997. Christine Roman explains how, after passing the House of Representatives, a bill to raise the federal minimum wage has bogged down in the Senate.
