With ACA Anniversary, More Data On Ohio Health Care Sign-ups

There were 1.5 million Ohioans who were uninsured before the opening of the federal health insurance marketplace in 2013. Trey Daly is the state director for Get Covered America, and says more than half of those uninsured Ohioans are now covered.

"We now know that during the last open enrollment period, more than 234,000 enrolled in coverage through the marketplace, and an additional 500,000 low and moderate income Ohioans have secured coverage through expanded Medicaid."

But that Medicaid expansion hasn't come without controversy. State lawmakers are now looking at Medicaid expansion in the budget, and may make some changes. And thousands of Ohioans are now facing losing their Medicaid benefits unless they re-enroll.
