Presidential Candidates See Ohio As Best Hope For Victory

It’s the final push for votes before Election Day, and the Presidential campaigns have been pulling out every stop in swing states – especially Ohio. ideastream's Bill Rice reports.

Democratic Vice President Joe Biden stumped for the Obama/Biden ticket Sunday during three Ohio events. Here he is in Lakewood:

BIDEN: "We need you Ohio. We need you. We win Ohio, we win this election."

Meanwhile, Republican challenger Mitt Romney was at Cleveland’s the IX Center making his closing argument.

ROMNEY: "The door to a brighter future is there, it’s open, it’s waiting for us. I need your vote, I need your help. Walk with me…."

Indeed, all eyes are on Ohio, considered by both candidates as well as many pundits and analysts to be their single best hope for victory. That alone explains their outsized presence in the state. On Friday Romney appeared with a large roster of well-known Republicans, including Former NY Governor Rudy Giuliani, Senator Marco Rubio and former primary rivals Rick Santorum and Rick Perry. He skipped the state Saturday, appeared in Cleveland Sunday, and will be back in Columbus today.

The President made three appearances Friday, another on Saturday and again Sunday night. He’ll be back today, also in Columbus.
