The economy has come a long way from the very bottom of the Great Recession, but times are still tough. Federal statistics show the labor force participation rate in September was 62.7 percent, compared to 66 percent in 2008. One industry looking to fill as many as 30,000 jobs...right now...is the trucking industry. The American Trucking Association said recently it expects 100,000 or more open trucking jobs in the next decade. Thomas Balzer thinks those numbers are conservative, though. He's president of the Ohio Trucking Association, and he spoke to ideastream's Tony Ganzer.
