Ohio Voting Smooth So Far

Ohioans are going to the polls today. Statehouse correspondent Jo Ingles has an update.

Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 5:47 pm

So far, the secretary of state’s office doesn’t have any reports of problems at any polling places throughout Ohio, and turnout is expected to be low because there are no high-profile statewide primary contests. There is a primary for the Democratic nomination for governor, but one candidate has raised no money. There are party primaries featuring more than 50 people running for Congress, and dozens more are running for the state legislature, the Ohio Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals.

Voters are deciding a statewide bond issue to fund local infrastructure projects, as well as 614 local issues on the ballot, including 149 school levies.

The polls close at 7:30 tonight. Voters who have not yet returned absentee ballots can drop them off at their county Board of Elections before that time.
