Ohio Lawmakers at Impasse over Kasich Tax Plan

Ohio legislators seem to be at an impasse over Gov. John Kasich’s proposal for major cuts in the state income tax and a major broadening of the sales tax to dozens of services. Overall, the package would be a net tax cut of $1.4 billion over three years. But two major business groups still don’t like the sales tax part. And Republicans who control the Ohio House of Representatives are also balking at the idea. Legislative leaders are asking business advocates for some alternative ways to pay for an income tax cut. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports.
