Makers: Adults with autism
Business: Lifeworks Boutique
From Start to Finish: People at Lifeworks have many opportunities to learn, work, and engage socially, and one of the activities people can choose to do is work on products for their boutique. They start by making soaps, candles, and other bath and home products. They package everything, and then sell them at farmer’s markets throughout Cleveland.
Life Skills: The goal of vocational programs at Lifeworks is to teach adults with autism valuable skills so they can potentially get jobs outside of the center. Those who aren’t able to work are learning skills they can use in their lives outside of Lifeworks.
Shop Lifeworks: Anyone buying boutique products from Lifeworks are supporting the center for adults with autism. You can shop their products on their website, some farmer’s markets throughout Cleveland, and also shops like Fiddlehead Gallery on Larchmere Boulevard or Moonstruck on Mayfield Road.
