Key State Senator Hints at Keeping Internet Cafes

Share on Facebook Share Share on Twitter Share

State senators are not going to rush to approve a house-passed plan that backers say would shut down Ohio’s 800 internet cafes and sweepstakes stores. Instead, senators say they will deal with the issue in a joint House-Senate panel that’s looking at several gambling-related issues and could take months to make recommendations. State Sen. Bill Coley chairs the panel. He agrees the storefronts should be regulated more, but he is not endorsing the House-passed plan that could regulate them out of business. Here’s Coley in an interview with Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen.
