Here's How to Watch Cleveland's Mayoral Debate on Friday

ideastream illustration

So far, much of the mayoral campaigning has gone on at neighborhood meetings, forums and festivals.

But on Friday, Mayor Frank Jackson and his eight challengers will take part in a 90-minute debate, hosted by the City Club of Cleveland, at the Global Center for Health Innovation.

90.3 will carry the debate live between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., and WVIZ will stream the event online:

Jackson took his campaign to the air this week, buying $100,000 of local TV ad time, according to an order form disclosed by WOIO.

A poll in early August by Zogby Analytics had Jackson leading his opponents with 33 percent support, followed by councilmen Zack Reed at 12 percent and Jeff Johnson at 8 percent. Another 35 percent were undecided. Respondents said crime and safety were the top issues for them, followed by poverty and education.

Early voting is already underway ahead of the Sept. 12 primary. As of Thursday afternoon, about 900 ballots had been returned to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.
