A new study finds that Summit County residents value arts and culture and consider it important to the local quality of life and economy.
But the study also finds “the county lacks a cohesive arts sector and the leadership to push it forward.”
It’s the first comprehensive assessment of the arts scene in Summit County, and was commissioned by the GAR and John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
The results are culled from a combination of random on-line and telephone surveys, open roundtable discussions, interviews with business executives and government officials, and comparison with other communities where arts and culture are part of efforts to revitalize.
