Former Ohio Congressman Unsurprised by Kasich Victory

With Republican backing in his home state, an Ohio victory for Governor John Kasich was expected by many Buckeye GOP supporters.

One of those republicans included former northeast Ohio Congressman Steven LaTourette.

He said this was a chance for party members in Ohio to reflect on the kind of candidate that they want.

"Ohio has always been a state that was sensible. It's a bellwether. And I think people like to know, 'Ok. How's my kid going to get a job? How am I going to move forward into the next century.' And not just, 'Build a wall. It's going to be terrific.' A lot of vague stuff. And so I think Ohio Republicans stood up tonight in a good way," LaTourette said.

LaTourette added that support for Kasich from Republican leaders in Ohio is a sign of trust.
