Emory University hospital cleared Vinson to go home two weeks after she was diagnosed with Ebola. That diagnosis followed a trip she had made home to Northeast Ohio to plan her wedding. And that trip led to the monitoring of more than 150 contacts back here.
Melanie Amato of the Ohio Department of Health says the state is happy for Vinson, but that doesn't change the circumstances in Ohio.
"We are actually monitoring 163, with three people quarantined," Amato said. "And that won't change with Amber's release today. These people will be monitored some until Oct. 31 -- this Friday -- and some could go through Nov. 4."
Also quarantined in Dallas is Vinson's mother, who had flown to Dallas from Ohio to be with her mother, unaware her daughter would be transferred to Atlanta. None of the contacts has shown any symptoms of Ebola.
