U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci vs. Pete Crossland

Republican Jim Renacci debated challenger Pete Crossland at the City Club of Cleveland. Reporter Mark Urycki has the details.

U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur vs. Richard May

Democrat Marcy Kaptur sat down at the City Club to debate Cleveland Republican Richard May. Listen to a short recap of that debate here.

Governor

Democratic candidate Ed FitzGerald sat down for an interview with Statehouse correspondent Karen Kasler. Watch the conversation on The State of Ohio.

In this radio piece, FitzGerald told Kasler that despite his campaign’s difficulties this summer and fall, he still has a case to make.

Meanwhile, Gov. John Kasich is running a low-key reelection campaign as the latest polling tilts strongly in his favor. He and Kasler talk about growth in low-wage jobs in Ohio and his plans for a tax on oil and gas drilling.

Attorney General

Republican incumbent Mike DeWine is running for a second term against Democrat David Pepper. Both men answered questions on The State of Ohio. Hear more on their campaigns from Karen Kasler.

Secretary of State

The race between Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted and his Democratic challenger, State Sen. Nina Turner, has centered on voting access. Libertarian Kevin Knedler is also challenging Husted for the office.

Husted and Turner talked about the race with Karen Kasler on The State of Ohio. Kasler breaks down the race here.

ideastream’s Tony Ganzer spoke about Ohio’s voting rules with state Republican Party chair Matt Borges and with a strong critic of the GOP’s position.

Auditor

Republican Dave Yost is running for reelection against two opponents, Democratic State Rep. John Patrick Carney and Libertarian candidate Bob Bridges.

The three debated their visions for the office at the City Club of Cleveland in a conversation moderated by ideastream’s Nick Castele. Review a recap of that debate here.

Watch Yost and Carney speak separately about the race on The State of Ohio. Karen Kasler has a summary of that conversation here.

Treasurer

Republican incumbent Josh Mandel is defending his seat from Democratic State Rep. Connie Pillich.

Pillich spoke with Statehouse correspondent Karen Kasler on State of Ohio. Watch the full interview here, and listen to an audio piece on the race here.

Mandel did not agree to a sit-down interview. But he and Pillich did answer questions from the Plain Dealer editorial board. Listen to that conversation at Cleveland.com.

Cuyahoga County Executive

Republican County Councilman Jack Schron and Democratic State Rep. Armond Budish are running for the open seat vacated by Ed FitzGerald, the outgoing county executive.

Schron and Budish each sat down for interviews with ideastream before their City Club of Cleveland debate. Hear Schron’s interview here and Budish’s here.
