There are still no cases of the disease in Ohio. However, the state does have three people under quarantine and the watchful eye of local health officials.

Gene Nixon with Summit County Public Health says medical experts continue to hone their knowledge on how to handle infectious diseases.

“Our hospitals—our first responders—our public health systems continue to develop protocols—procedures—policies and to train and drill to best address Ebola.”

The Centers for Disease Control has commended Ohio and its response to the crisis in the hours after learning of Vinson’s visit.

Gov. John Kasich says Ohio has implemented protocols that are tougher than what the CDC calls for.
