High School Shooting Claims A Victim

Metrohealth Medical Center has released a statement saying 16-year-old Daniel Parmertor died today, several hours after being rushed to its Level One Trauma Center from Chardon High School.

Parmentor was among five students shot in the school cafeteria by another student. No motive for the shooting has come out, but one CHS student described the alleged gunman as an outcast who had been bullied by classmates.

At a recent press conference, Chardon Police Chief Tim McKenna shared the news about Parmentor's death, and the current status of the other four shooting victims.

"The two other students that were life-flighted to Cleveland Metro are both in critical (care). The two students that were ground transported to Hillcrest Trauma Center, Cleveland Clinic….one stable, one serious."

After the incident, the alleged shooter left the school and was later taken in by police. He's being held at the Geauga County Sheriff's Office. The suspect's name isn't expected to be released until formal charges are filed.
