Former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland Launches U.S. Senate Bid

Strickland says he understands what it is like to struggle to make ends meet. He says too many Ohioans are doing that right now.

Strickland: "People can work full time and still be in poverty. That's wrong. I want to go to Washington and work to fundamentally change this system that is stacked against average working people."

The Ohio Republican Party's Chris Schrimpf says Strickland's economic policies don't work and adds, under Strickland's leadership, 300,000 Ohioans lost their jobs.

The only other Democrat who has entered the Senate race, Cincinnati City Council member P.G. Sittenfeld says, in a written statement, that he plans to continue his campaign.
