Imagine a world where medicine is race specific -- where there are separate drugs for heart disease, diabetes or obesity, specifically designed for blacks or whites. New York University Sociologist Troy Duster worries that's just the sort of path biomedical research is taking, and that it's leading science away from the real sources of disease and health disparity. Dr. Duster is lecturing tonight at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History at 7:30pm. He spoke with ideastream® health reporter Gretchen Cuda this morning.
