If you know when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em, you could be just the player Horseshoe Cincinnati is looking for. In mid-September the casino becomes the first in Ohio to host a World Series of Poker circuit event.
Jason Newman is the casino’s Poker Room Manager.
“We estimate over 8,000 players through the doors for those 12 days," he said. "We think we’ll have $3 million in prize pool, combined.”
The casino expects players will come from around the country to compete, making the tournament a boon for local hotels.
Two winners will go on to compete at the national championships in Atlantic City. Horseshoe Cleveland will also get a turn at hosting a circuit event in March. These circuit events are spin-offs of the original World Series of Poker held each year in Las Vegas.
