Last year the Ohio Department of Natural Resources was allotted $88 million to improve and update the state's parks.
The Controlling Board-a panel that oversees the flow of money for such projects-just approved a new round of funds from that pot for a handful of new renovations.
Phil Miller with ODNR says that includes updating the infrastructure for water and electricity at the Mohican campgrounds and improving the scenic route along the Little Miami River. He says these updates are important but also serve to increase enjoyment of the parks.
"A byproduct of that is going to be customer satisfaction and certainly we want our guests to have a positive experience at our state parks," said Miller.
The latest series of projects will cost about $1.4 million.
