Many patients undergo procedures they question the history of... but even doctors sometimes have concerns. It lead in one case to a new system for treating an old problem, removing diseased tissue that some women deal with. Now, that doctor is spreading his knowledge to others - teaching how to essentially 'zap' tumors or diseased tissue, with heat. That's the subject of our Tuesday Check Up.
The name of the procedure is radiofrequency ablation. Dr. Shirley Bennett of Southwest General Hospital is the first physician in Ohio to use it for treating symptomatic fibroids.
