Residents of Cleveland's West Side enjoyed using the newly renovated tunnel that links the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood to Edgewater Park Thursday.

The West 76th tunnel has been closed since 2010 and reopened earlier this week.

Nadine Nocero jogged through the tunnel this afternoon.

Nocero: “I’m thrilled to have the tunnel open.  It’s beautiful, its great lake access, and it makes my walk with my dogs much more scenic.”

Nocero says she appreciates that the tunnel is well lit and feels safe.

The Ohio Department of Transportation spent roughly six million dollars renovating this tunnel and another one beneath Clifton Blvd as part of a bigger project to improve lakefront access for Cleveland’s west side.
