While Amanda Berry did indeed come home, her sister, Beth Cerrano-Berry, was the one who came out, as a news chopper buzzed over their neighborhood.
A tidal wave of camera crews and boom mics rose up to meet her, prompting police to act.
"Okay, stop! Stop right there!" officers yelled, pushing the oncoming wave of media away from the woman.
"We appreciate all you have done for us throughout the past ten years," Cerrano-Berryread from a sheet of paper. "Please respect our privacy until we are ready to make our statements."
Later, another former captive, Gina DeJesus, was hustled into her home while crowds cheered. Her father, Felix, fired up the crowd.
"I knew she needed me…and I never gave up! ever gave up!" he cried.
The third woman, Michelle Knight, remains at a local hospital.
The women's abductor, Ariel Castro, has been charged with multiple counts of kidnapping and rape.
