Ohio A.G. Hunts For New Evidence in Steubenville Rape Case

There are new developments in Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine’s ongoing investigation into the rape case involving Steubenville High School students. Ohio Public Radio’s Jo Ingles has the latest details.

Search warrants have been executed at the Steubenville Board of Education offices and other facilities as well as Steubenville High School.  Authorities also searched Vestige Limited, a business in Medina County.

It’s not clear exactly what officials are searching for because the court granting the warrants also sealed the associated documents.  Attorney General Mike DeWine says the search warrants were issued in connection with the Steubenville rape case.

Last month, two Steubenville High School football players were convicted of raping a teen girl last fall.  The case has attracted national attention.

DeWine’s investigation is looking into whether some people in Steubenville might have helped cover up or somehow botch the initial handling of the case.
