More than 800 Ohio businesses have registered with the state attorney general as internet cafes or sweepstakes stores, but the A.G. contends they’re basically illegal gambling operations. He’s backing a bill in the legislature that aims to shut down most of the stores. Tuesday afternoon, a committee of the Ohio House of Representatives held yet another hearing on the proposal. As statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports, this session featured supporters of the crackdown…but critics of the measure spoke out anyway.
