Parents of high school students know the task of getting into - and 'financing' a college education - is not an easy thing to accomplish.

Stephanie Silverman is the Publisher and Susan Borison is the editor of Your Teen, a locally produced magazine for parents of teenagers. They are sponsoring a conference January 29 that aims to help parents - especially parents going through the process for the first time - to not only understand what’s happening, but to obtain helpful information.

They offer a preview - and a few tips - to ideastream’s Rick Jackson ...

This event was created by the magazine and several area school systems, and will be held Tuesday at the Hathaway Brown campus in Shaker Heights.
Topics will include:
1) The Admissions Process: Insider Secrets
2) College and Athletics
3) Teaching Financial Independence
4) Finding Your Teen’s Passions
5) 529 College Savings Plans: It’s Never Too Late
6) A Parent’s Role
