The Ohio Senate has passed a bill that's meant to crack down on puppy mills. Republican Jim Hughes, one of the sponsors of the legislation, says it will help protect dogs from inhumane conditions.
HUGHES: “This bill is a much-needed good start—what is needed in here to get the black eye away from Ohio as far as puppy mills. This bill has some very good tools where there is nothing right now that exists in law.”
The bill now goes to Gov. John Kasich’s desk for his signature.
